In Honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Hortonville Public Library welcomes NAMI Fox Valley for:

Mental Illness 101

What is mental illness? What is mental health? This presentation provides an overview of mental illness, including the categories of mental illness, their incidence and biological basis; treatment and recovery; the adverse effects of stigma; the importance of advocacy; and NAMI Fox Valley’s role in the community to improve the quality of life for those affected by mental illness.  Learn how you can help NAMI’s cause and break the stigma.

The Wisconsin Road Guide to Haunted Locations is your guide to finding haunted bars, bed & breakfasts, bridges, campgrounds, cemeteries, churches, fire stations, hotels, lighthouses, mansions, parks, railroad tracks, restaurants, roads, rocks, schoolhouses, stores, theaters, and much more!   

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear about selected haunted Wisconsin locations, meet Chad, and purchase copies of his books.

UW-Extension Launchpad is a chance for kids ages 8-11 to meet at the library for fun and educational STEM activities after school. Topics will include: water, CSI, & rollercoasters.

Attention readers!  You are invited to join the Hortonville Public Library’s Fall Reading Program, Fall in Love with Reading!  We are challenging readers to keep reading year-round to build literacy foundations, engage pre-reading and beginning reading skills, further your depth and breadth of reading, literacy, and knowledge, and develop a life-long love of reading and learning.  The Fall Reading Program will run from September through November.  Participants will earn chances to win one of four prize baskets by completing reading logs.  Along the way, you can show off your progress by helping fill our Reading Tree with leaves!  Registration opens on Friday September 1st, so stop by the lirbary to sign up and get your first reading log.
