1st and 3rd Thursdays at 6pm ~ June 15 - August 17
Join us for a book club geared towards lovers of YA literature, free pizza, and cozy beverages. Bring a book and a friend to our meetings to discuss your favorite YA reads and help choose a whole summer of great books! For our July 20th meeting, we'll be discussing "The Testing" by Joelle Charbonneau and "House Arrest" by K.A. Holt. Charbonneau's book delves into the dystopian genre with a book about creating a future on a scorched Earth, and adds some elements that fans of "The Hunger Games" will enjoy. Meanwhile, Holt's book uses verse format to explore the inner thoughts of a teen who has been placed under house arrest for theft- this book is shorter, and a good supplementary read for after you finish "The Testing."
Come with some talking points or questions you'd like to ask the group, and we'll chit chat over some delicious pizza!
The library is currently accepting applications for ARCHIVES VOLUNTEERS in addition to regular volunteers. Archives volunteers help organize our local history documents and process them for safe circulation. Qualified candidates will have some knowledge of Hortonville history and a strong appreciation of the value of historical documents. To apply, fill out a volunteer application and when you submit it, indicate in your email or in a note attached to your hard-copy application that you wish to be an archives volunteer. Application and submission instructions can be found on our Volunteers page.
