Something new is coming to your library experience this August!
We’re excited to share that the InfoSoup catalog and library account experience will soon be getting a refresh. The updated experience will make it easier to search, discover, and manage your library account.
Here’s what you can expect with the update:
- A refreshed catalog experience
- Improved searching and browsing
- New features and enhancements
Please note that there will be a few temporary service interruptions during the transition in August. Here’s the current timeline of what to expect:
August 7th Access to the online catalog will be limited and the InfoSoup app will go offline. You will still be able to search for items and look up their location, but renewals, holds, and select account actions can only be done by library staff in person or over the phone. Up to 50 lists (and 500 items) saved to your online account should migrate to the new catalog.
August 9th – 16th the entire catalog will go offline. We will no longer be able to place holds, renew items, or update accounts. PHYSICAL LIBRARY CARDS WILL BE REQUIRED TO CHECK OUT ITEMS.
August 17th The new catalog can be accessed by library staff. At this time, staff will be able to assist with placing holds and item renewals either in person or over the phone.
August 19th Everyone will have access to the new catalog and will be able to use it as they had prior to the update.
Once our systems are back up, we will roll out a new InfoSoup app. We will provide more information about the app as soon as we are able.
What can you do to make this transition go as smoothly as possible for everyone involved?
• Locate your library card/take screenshots of your virtual library card on the InfoSoup app BEFORE it goes offline on August 7th
• Check your account lists to ensure you’re not exceeding the 50 list/500 item transfer limit for your account. We’d also recommend taking the time to create backup versions of these lists just in case the transfer is not as smooth as we anticipate.
• Stock up on items and place holds BEFORE July 27th and plan to pick them up by August 8th. Once we go offline on August 9th, we will not receive holds again until August 17th
• Follow our Facebook and check our website for any updates pertaining to the launch of our new catalog
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work toward a better library experience for staff and patrons alike. If you have any questions pertaining to the catalog updates, feel free to give us a call at (920) 779-4279 and we will do our best to assist you!
